06.03.2024 Backgammon Festival Aachen - Online Satellite #2
In a couple of online satellite tournaments, you can win tickets to the Backgammon Festival Aachen, from August 10 to 16, in the city of Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle), Germany.
There are two main events as part of Backgammon Festival Aachen: - the first official WBGF World Doubles Championship - Charlemagne Open, a single tournament in two categories (Masters, Intermediate)

Participation:.
Participation is open for all persons who pay the required entrance fee of Euro 40 (36€ to the prize fund and 4€ registration fee). Depending on the numbers of participants, you can win: - Tickets worth 500€, entry fee and registration for either a team in the World Doubles Championship or for the Masters category of the Charlemagne Open, - Tickets worth 250€, entry fee and registration for one person as member of a team in the World Doubles Championship, or for the Intermediate category of Charlemagne Open, - Tickets worth 100€, entry to the Gala Dinner on August 14 for one person. Tickets cannot be payed out, but can be transferred to another person. Remaining prize money less than 100€ ist paid to the next placed players who did not win a ticket. The second satellite starts on April 3rd, 2024.
The duration of the tournament depends on the number of participants. There will be about one week for each round, The tournament will be played in knockout mode. There is only one random draw at the beginning. From that on, the pairings will follow the brackets. The calculated performance rate has no influence on the outcome of the tournament . In addition, the WBIF tournament rules apply. All games are played to 9 points. The matches of the tournament are played with BG Studio Heroes. The nick name for server BG Studio Heroes is recorded and published at registration. Participants without an account at Heroes are asked to make a request - mentioning the participation in this WBIF Tournament - at WBIF@gmx.net. The games will be evaluated with eXtreme Gammon and results will be published .
To participate in the tournament a starting fee of 40,00 € will be charged. <
Payment is possible by bank transfer or Paypal - WBIF@gmx.net. Applications to the tournament possible from now on till February 29, 2024 by using the registration form on the website. Questions about the tournament please send via e-mail to the tournament director.
